Dr. Marg Wood, DVM – Founder & Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Wood brings 30 years of veterinary excellence as the founder and owner of Parkland Veterinary Clinic. Her remarkable journey includes balancing her veterinary education while raising seven children, demonstrating her exceptional dedication to both family and profession. Known for her unwavering commitment to animal care, Dr. Wood combines extensive medical expertise with genuine compassion for pets and their owners. Beyond veterinary medicine, she pursues her passion for wildlife photography, capturing the beauty of nature through her lens.

Dr. Christine Newton, DVM – Senior Veterinarian

With 32 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Newton brings diverse expertise from her training in Missouri to her practice in Canada. She specializes in surgery and maintains a particular dedication to comprehensive animal care. Dr. Newton’s commitment to animal welfare extends beyond the clinic – she maintains a personal rescue sanctuary for various pets, including dogs and cats. When not performing veterinary procedures, she’s an accomplished Dragon Boat athlete, having competed internationally in Italy.

Dr. Don Waterman, DVM – Consulting Veterinarian

Dr. Don contributes over three decades of veterinary experience to our team. After owning his own practice, he joined Parkland Veterinary Clinic, bringing valuable expertise and insight to our medical team. His commitment to animal care was inspired by early personal experiences, leading to a lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine. Dr. Don’s extensive knowledge, including international experience from his work in Australia, enriches our practice’s comprehensive care approach.
