About SouthPaw Animal Hospital
Compassionate Care for Your Entire Family
At SouthPaw Animal Hospital, we believe that exceptional veterinary care begins with understanding—not just of animal medicine, but of the unique bond you share with your pet. Established with a vision to create a truly pet-centered practice, we’ve built our reputation on combining medical excellence with genuine compassion for both animals and their people.
From the moment you and your pet walk through our doors, you’ll notice the difference in our approach. We’ve thoughtfully designed our environment to reduce stress and create positive experiences for our patients. For our canine visitors, this means plenty of treats, ear rubs, and back scratches. Our feline friends enjoy a dedicated cats-only room that offers a quieter setting, calming pheromones, and engaging toys that help distract from the unfamiliar surroundings.
Personalized Medicine, Generous Time
We never rush through appointments. Our veterinarians take the time to move at your pet’s pace, allowing them to become comfortable while ensuring you have ample opportunity to ask questions and fully understand your pet’s health situation. This unhurried approach means better experiences for everyone and more thorough medical care.
While we’re certainly here for your pet during illness or injury, we place special emphasis on preventative medicine. Through comprehensive wellness exams, vaccination protocols tailored to your pet’s specific lifestyle and risk factors, and appropriate parasite prevention strategies, we help keep your companions healthy and thriving throughout every life stage.
Understanding that pet owners have busy lives, we offer both scheduled appointments and complimentary drop-off options for your convenience—because we believe excellent veterinary care should fit into your life, not disrupt it.
Our Thoughtfully Designed Facility
Our hospital features two separate, specialized kennel rooms, a dedicated isolation area for contagious conditions, and spacious runs with heated floors for patient comfort. Pets requiring close monitoring stay in our treatment area during daytime hours, with overnight supervision often provided in our veterinarians’ homes for continuous care.
With three well-equipped examination rooms and a comfortable family visiting area for hospitalized patients, we’ve created spaces that serve both medical needs and emotional connections. Every aspect of our facility reflects our commitment to both medical excellence and compassionate care.
Comprehensive Care for Diverse Species
While dogs and cats make up a significant portion of our practice, our skilled team provides specialized care for an extensive range of animal companions. Beyond traditional pets, we welcome exotic species including ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and various rodents. Our reptile medicine services extend to snakes, frogs, bearded dragons, chameleons, geckos, tortoises, turtles, and iguanas.
Each species requires unique expertise, and our team continually pursues advanced training to ensure we’re providing the most current and effective care for every animal we treat.
